Why do my tyres wear out unevenly?
Many people forget that your tyres are the only point of your contact your vehicle has with the road. With the many thousands of miles that we travel throughout the year, we need to ensure that our tyres are in top condition and are lasting us as long as possible as they can be quite an expense to replace when they are worn out. So, imagine your surprise when you realise that your tyres have worn down past the legal limit on only one edge and you now need to replace them. Why does this happen & how do I fix it?
Your tyres will become misaligned through general driving over the bumpy roads, hitting pot holes & kerbs, wearing parts on the vehicle and is unfortunately unavoidable, this makes your tyres move ever so slightly and the contact with the road will not be flat, so they then wear on just one side or the other. By visiting a Four-Wheel Alignment garage, they will adjust your vehicle to bring it back to its correct alignment so that your tyres will be set at the correct position for maximum tyre life, better fuel efficiency and in some cases a straighter steering wheel. We advise to get your alignment checked once a year at your regular service and after any new tyres fitted.
